Welcome to Environment Art on wordpress. This blog might end up growing larger as time goes on, but for the start I might be the only poster. I have some friends in the industry who are interested in posting also, so we will see.
A little background about myself. I have worked for 10 years or so in the game / entertainment industry at places like, Epic Games, Framestore NY, Crystal Dynamics, and NaughtyDog. Currently I am a Sr. Texture Artist at NaughtyDog and have had the pleasure to be part of “The Last of US” now working on “Uncharted 4” and so far it is a blast working here.
The reason for opening up this blog is to have a place where I can add tutorials, workflows, and general environment art related stuff. I will also start to collect links of environment artists in the community that have really solid websites.
Everything I post here is not related to NaughtyDog or other programs I present, I am not being paid by anyone for doing this. I do this for free in my free time usually late at night since I have a normal job that sometimes involves crunches so please respect others and me on this blog. If people have comments on the content share them in the comments section. My biggest intention is to give some back to the community and if the game art community gives back also that will be awesome 🙂
I frequent polycount.com and LunchCrunch group on facebook (user name is Rogelio Olguin). I do have a facebook and linkedin account. I am more likely to accept contacts through linkedin than facebook. I may consider making an art only facebook account in the future but in till than if I do not accept your facebook request do not feel upset. My facebook account is mostly for friends and family I hope you understand.
